Terms of service
Last updated September 21, 2026.
These terms are the agreement between you and SnagHaul for using our website and app (the "Service"). By creating an account, browsing, listing an item, or placing an order, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the Service. See also our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect and how we use it.
1. Who can use SnagHaul
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to create an account. Give accurate information when you sign up and keep it current. Your account is for you alone — don't share it, and don't run more than one account per person. You're responsible for everything that happens under your login, so keep your password secure and tell us right away (support@snaghaul.com) if you think someone else has access to it.
2. What SnagHaul is — and isn't
SnagHaul is a marketplace: a place for members to list, discover, buy, and sell items with each other. We are not the seller, the manufacturer, or the owner of anything listed, and we don't inspect items before they're listed or before they ship. Sellers are responsible for the accuracy of their own listings and for the items they sell; buyers are responsible for reading a listing carefully before buying. A transaction is a contract between the buyer and the seller — our role is to run the platform, hold payment until an order is confirmed, and step in under Buyer Protection or the returns process below when something goes wrong.
3. Listing an item
You can only list items you actually own and are able to ship (or make available for local pickup, see below). Titles, photos, descriptions, condition, and price all have to be accurate — don't list something you don't have, and don't misrepresent condition, authenticity, or brand. Setting up bundle discounts, accepting or making offers on a listing, and choosing how shipping cost is split with the buyer are all choices you make as the seller; once a buyer checks out, those terms are locked in for that order.
You may not list: counterfeit or replica goods; stolen property; weapons, ammunition, or explosives; illegal drugs or drug paraphernalia; alcohol, tobacco, vape or nicotine products; live animals; hazardous, recalled, or prohibited-by-carrier materials; adult content; or anything else illegal to sell or ship where you or the buyer are located. We can remove a listing that violates this section at any time, with or without notice.
4. Buying, payment, and Buyer Protection
When you check out, you pay the item price, any shipping you owe, and a Buyer Protection fee. If you have coupons or a wallet balance, they're applied before your card is charged. We (or our payment processor) hold that payment — the seller isn't paid yet — until the order is marked delivered and you confirm it arrived as described, or the confirmation window passes without a problem being reported, whichever comes first. If something's wrong, report it from the order page before that window closes; that's what Buyer Protection actually protects. A missed ship-by date cancels the order and refunds you automatically, with no action needed on your part.
5. Local pickup
Some listings ship, some are pickup-only, and some let the buyer choose either at checkout. A pickup listing is only offered to buyers within 100 miles of the seller's pickup address; you're responsible for coordinating a time and place with the seller through SnagHaul messages and for meeting them there. We don't verify pickup locations or supervise the exchange — use the same judgment you'd use meeting anyone from the internet in person, and meet in a public place if you're not sure.
6. Shipping and return labels
For a shipped order, we generate a prepaid label the seller uses to ship within the posted ship-by window. Tracking updates the order automatically. If a buyer and seller agree to a return, we generate a return label the same way, and either side's agreed share of its cost comes out of that transaction's proceeds as described on the order itself — not billed separately. Buying a real, unused label and then not actually using it to void a legitimate refund is fraud; if tracking shows a label was used after an order was cancelled and refunded, we may recover its cost from the seller's balance.
7. Cancellations, returns, and disputes
A seller can cancel and refund an order before it ships. Once shipped, a buyer can request a return, proposing who covers return shipping — the seller, the buyer, or split — which the seller can accept or decline. If the seller declines, the buyer can escalate to our support team, who will either refund the buyer without requiring the item back, or decide the buyer covers return shipping and require it back, whichever the situation calls for. Filing a return request, a "problem with my order" report, or a payment dispute (chargeback) that misrepresents what actually happened is a violation of these terms on its own, separate from whatever the dispute was about.
8. Fees, coupons, wallet, and referrals
Listing and selling on SnagHaul is free — we don't take a cut of your sale. Our revenue is the Buyer Protection fee buyers pay, and the small percentage kept on an instant (rather than standard) payout, if you choose one. Coupons have no cash value, can't be transferred or resold, expire on the date shown, and can be revoked if we determine they were earned through abuse (for example, signing up multiple accounts to farm referral rewards). Your wallet balance — from sales, refunds, or coupons — can be spent on the platform or withdrawn to your bank; it isn't a bank account and doesn't earn interest. Referral rewards require a real referral relationship at signup and a genuine milestone on the referred account's side, not just an account existing.
9. Seller payouts
To receive payouts you'll connect a payout account through our payment processor, which may require identity verification under its own terms. We pay out your available balance on the schedule you choose — standard or instant, for a fee disclosed before you confirm it. We can hold or reverse a payout tied to an order that's later cancelled, refunded, disputed, or found to involve fraud.
10. Reviews and conduct
Leave reviews based on your own real experience — no fake, retaliatory, or paid-for reviews in either direction. Treat other members the way you'd want to be treated: no harassment, hate speech, threats, spam, scams, or pressuring someone to take a transaction off the platform to dodge Buyer Protection or fees. You can report a listing or a conversation for our team to review; doing so may put the reported conversation in front of our support staff along with the order it relates to.
11. Content you submit
You keep ownership of the photos, descriptions, and messages you post, but by posting them you give SnagHaul a license to host, display, and reproduce them as needed to run the Service (for example, showing your listing photos in search results). Don't post anything you don't have the right to post, and don't post anyone else's personal information without their consent. We may remove content that violates these terms or the law.
12. Suspension and termination
We use two different actions depending on what's needed: a listing suspension blocks creating or editing listings while leaving the rest of your account (browsing, buying, messaging, logging in) untouched — used for listing-specific problems. A full suspension (ban) blocks using the Service entirely — used for more serious or repeated violations of these terms, fraud, or abuse. Either can be temporary or indefinite, with or without notice depending on severity. You can delete your own account at any time from Settings; we may keep order and payment records after that where the law requires it, as described in our Privacy Policy.
13. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is." We don't guarantee that listings are accurate, that a buyer or seller will follow through, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent the law allows, SnagHaul isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, or for the acts or omissions of other members; our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the six months before the claim arose.
14. Indemnification
You agree to cover our reasonable costs and damages if a claim arises from your own violation of these terms, misuse of the Service, or an item you listed or bought — for example, a claim that something you sold was counterfeit or unsafe.
15. Disputes between you and SnagHaul
If you have a problem, contact us first at support@snaghaul.com — most things get resolved that way.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the Service changes. We'll update the date at the top when we do; continuing to use SnagHaul after a change means you accept the new terms. If a change is significant, we'll try to let members know directly.
